As safari season begins in South Luangwa National Park, the valley comes alive in a way that feels almost cinematic. From May through September, the air is cool, the landscape still lush and green, and wildlife sightings are at their very best. It’s the time of year when visitors from around the world arrive in Mfuwe, ready to experience the magic of Zambia.

Just seven minutes from the national park gate, there’s something unexpected waiting for you—something slower, more personal, and deeply connected to this place.

Welcome to Mwezi Blu.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF SAFARI EXPERIENCE IN ZAMBIA
A safari isn’t only about the wildlife you see. It’s about the places and people you connect with along the way. Visiting local businesses in Mfuwe supports entrepreneurship, creates jobs, and keeps creativity thriving in the valley.

At Mwezi Blu, every piece of jewellery is handcrafted slowly and intentionally, using ethically and locally sourced materials. No two pieces are ever the same. Each one is traceable, rooted in Zambia, and made with purpose.

Choosing a piece here isn’t just shopping. It’s a way to carry a part of this incredible country with you.

ARRIVING AT THE MWEZI BLU ATELIER

When you arrive, you’ll be met by our warm and welcoming team, ready to guide you through the space and help you find something that speaks to you.

And if you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, don’t worry.

We offer a fully custom, immersive bespoke service, where you can be part of the creative process and design something uniquely yours. It’s a rare chance to create a piece of jewellery that is completely personal, shaped by your time in South Luangwa.

STEP INSIDE THE WORKSHOP

At the heart of the atelier is our working studio. Open, alive, and always in motion.

Here, you can watch our talented jewellers at work, using ancient metalsmithing techniques right here in the bush. Every piece is made by hand, step by step, through processes like sand casting, metal refinement, and careful finishing.

We also cut all of our gemstones in house. You may even meet Dave, our expert gem cutter, and see firsthand how raw stones are transformed into something extraordinary.

It’s not just a demonstration. It’s a real, working craft in action.

MEET THE MAKERS

Behind every piece is a story.

Our team is made up of young artisans, many of them recent school leavers, trained here in South Luangwa. Under the guidance of Vi, who brings over a decade of experience, they learn traditional techniques alongside valuable life and business skills.

This is about more than jewellery. It’s about empowerment, confidence, and creating opportunity for the next generation.

INSPIRED BY ZAMBIA, MADE IN ZAMBIA

Everything at Mwezi Blu begins with this place.

From the textures of the bush to the colours of the river and the wildlife that defines the valley, each design is inspired by Zambia itself. The connection between place and product is at the core of everything we do.

When you take home a piece, you’re not just taking home jewellery. You’re taking home a story.

A PURCHASE THAT GIVES BACK

Every purchase has a wider impact.

We currently sponsor 18 children through school, and 5% of all revenue goes directly towards education in the local community. By visiting Mwezi Blu, you become part of that story, supporting not just craftsmanship, but futures.
