WE ARE OPEN!

Esau, Jevious, Zorah, Emmanuel, Timalizye

Hello,

We would like to introduce ourselves. I, Emmanuel Nkhoma and my colleague Zorah Chazangwe are sales advisers at MWEZI BLU JEWELLERY.  We are excited to share with you our recent activities that Mwezi Blu’s team has engaged in.

Mwezi Blu shop finally opened its doors to the public on the 1st of September. We have been working tirelessly as a team to start our business operation and invite guests from all over the world to visit us at Mwezi Blu.

Currently Mwezi Blu employs 8 local Zambians, while collaborating with local craftsmen, like wood carver Hubbly. Hubbly and his team invest their time to produce and supply us with African black wood beads. These beads are crafted by carving wood using traditional tools and techniques.

Wakuda Silver earrings feturing African Black wood beads carved by Hubbly are currenly on SALE.

Mwezi Blu trainee jewellers have been learning different techniques and methods on fine jewellery making, where they had to find themselves measuring all parts in millimetres and learning to use tools such as tweezers, Pliers, Needle files, Ring mandril, piercing saw, and others. They made their very first Silver pieces at the start of the month, and since have progressed quickly in their training.

You can purchase their first pieces, Silver Star & Moon earrings and studs, online and at our Mwezi Blu atelier in Mfuwe. These earrings are masterfully made from Sterling Silver and will add a touch of elegance to any outfit.

We are working on the new collection, which will launch on the 19th of October. The jewellery will be made from upcycled Silver and Gold scrap and paired with Zambian gemstones. In preparation to this special new collection our team has been learning about gemmology and gemstones that are found in Zambia such as Garnets, Emeralds, Aquamarine, Tourmaline, and Amethysts.

It has been an exciting experience for our workshop team to learn new jewellery making techniques. In addition, they are completing Silver necklaces with Zambian gemstones, which will be auctioned to raise money for Kakumbi clinic. You will find out more about it in our next newsletter!

Until next time!
